Receiver operator characteristic analysis of signal intensity in regions of fibrosis in the lower lobes compared to emphysematous areas on the upper lobes in CPFE patients. The area under the curve was 0.95, p < 0.001. Using a SI value of ≥ 12 resulted in a sensitivity of 95% and a specificity of 100% in differentiating fibrosis from emphysema in CPFE.
