Contrast bolus injection protocol and bolus dispersion theory. a For all contrast-enhanced imaging, contrast was injected at a fixed rate, followed by a saline chaser at the same rate. Dynamic imaging of the heart was then performed. b The contrast bolus dispersion and optimal peak timing theory states that the peak enhancement of the contrast bolus in the aorta occurs at approximately one half the injection time plus a fixed dispersion delay (\( \frac{T_{\mathrm{i}}}{2}+\mathrm{d} \)). Note that the V2 volume scan also corresponds to the site of optimal CT angiography
