Temperature increase of one of the implant tips attached at the lower end of the cobalt-chrome (CoCr stem with the ceramic head as a function of the lateral offset of the implant from the isocenter. Note the steadily increasing heating for increasing lateral offsets. The effects were clearly larger for radiofrequency (RF) transmission with circularly polarized (CPT) than with elliptically polarized transmission (EPT)
