The dependence of per-slice hemorrhage volume on MI volume is shown with data taken from all infarcted TTC-stained slices of four dogs (left panel) and from the corresponding MRI slices of the same dogs (right panel). A strong linear relationship was found in both comparisons. Interestingly, the regression line has a negative y-intercept (left panel), which suggests that for MH to occur, the MI must surpass a minimum size; i.e. in very small infarcts MH is unlikely
